Mar del Plata is a fun city on the Atlantic coast of Argentina, around 6 hours from capital city Buenos Aires (you can bus, or ride a train).
It is the top baleanario (seaside resort in English) in Argentina – visit during December through March if you don’t believe me…
There are two shopping malls in Mar del Plata, both located conveniently across the street from each other, separated by a lovely, inner-city green space and a few restaurants; Paseo Diagonal and Gallegos Mall.
Both are similar to what you would find in the U.S. and elsewhere, with upper and lower levels lined with shops and an escalator in the middle (Paseo Diagonal), multi-plex cinema on top. Both cinemas have online schedule of upcoming movies, times and prices.
The second video is of a set of an area to street shop open only to pedestrians (closed to car traffic). There is a lovely outdoor cafe, what you find all over the city and all over the country and many shops to choose from.
The location of this video is San Martin & Cordoba streets, just down from the Cathedral and around a 10 minute walk from the two shoppings (how you say ‘shopping mall’ in Spanish.
Enjoy, Molly
