We spent a little time in Montana this past October (2013), and stayed at a place right next to the Clark Fork river with many walking trails: Ersking Access Fishing area.
The awesome teen took many afternoon hikes, and brought the camera with him to have some fun taking photos. He really wanted to see a bear, but none were to be seen and our trip to Yellowstone Park ended up getting postponed; next year…
I love the things he did find to shoot. The classic car (a roadster?) was of course shot in town – Frenchtown, a little rural suburb next to the city of Missoula.
Love the shot at the top of this page, but what is it? I found a great resource page online – Insectidentification.org – and think it is a Brown Mantidfly.
The fuzzy little guy chomping away on some vegetagion is a commonly seen Woolly Bear Caterpillar.
